All this hub bub and what have we gotten? Cosmetic crap. Fluff. That's all it is. To make matters worse, performance is now WORSE than it ever was.
Come on CCP, I expected better of you. You're not that big that you can afford to completely alienate your player base. Look at what SOE did with SWG. Took 500k loyal players and whittled it down to less than 10k. Learn from their mistakes and learn from yours. The reason people are so jumpy, paranoid and easy to upset is because we've been screwed over SO MANY TIMES by other companies. You know, selling buggy, half finished products. They may have been pretty, but they simply didn't work right. Any serious MMO player should have at least 3 or more complete FAIL MMO's under their belt (UGh, I loathe to count mine). CCP had always been the rock, the one company that bucked the trend. Imagine everyone's reaction when even a rumor of RMT, followed by a leaked newsletter hit the player base. I would think that if the same had happened to any other MMO company there would not have been even a fraction of the outcry, mainly because players expect it of them. NOT from CCP. And yet the hits kept rolling. Some people ignored it, others got ****ed and protested with a crap load more in between those two opinions. It shows two things: a) The players hold CCP to a very high standard; and b) People who play this game for more than a month truly love what CCP has done here. They don't want it prettied up, at least not with performance being sacrificed for such trivial rubbish. A big complaint I've heard is performance and bugs. THESE are the things that need fixing. When skills work and the game runs more smooth, THEN make it pretty (it's not like it's ugly right?).
CCP,sometimes to know where you're going you have to know where you came from. Don't screw over the players you have that pay your bills with the hopes of scoring the "millions" of other players that quite simply do not (and may never) exist.
